American Idol has always been my favourite talent show since I watched it in 2002 if not wrong. (Year whereby Reuben won) Without this talent show I would not have watched Malaysian Idol 1 whereby I was so touched by Jaclyn Victor. And lastly I would not have requested tickets to watch PSS1 live and be touched by Kelvin Tan Wei Lian.
Last year I was totally amazed by Danny Gokey. I bought his 1st country album direct from US. This year I am star strucked by Andrew Garcia. In some ways they are alike. Glasses, attached (one is a widower, Andrew is an unmarried father) and they are great in their own ways. Some may complain about Andrew being inconsistent and this year's idol weren't as great as before due to Paula Abdul left, contestants were not good etc etc.
I do love Ellen and did not miss Paula much. But I do find the 12 males 12 females moving to top 12, 6 males 6 females format not to my liking. The qualities of the contestants were not balanced. Also almost all the contestants in top 12 were alike. Many of them play guitar and acoustic. Somewhat can find it boring this season.
But my eyes are only focused on Andrew Garcia. I was hoping he will be in Top 5 but hopes gone 2 weeks ago when he and Katie Stevens were eliminated. My hope is now on Michael to fight with Crystal. Crystal is my favourite female but I do get pissed off by the judges for always praising her no matter what she sings even if the song sounded boring esp Randy, Kara. The unfairness can be seen week after week and now I am hoping for someone else to win and not her unless the judges tone down their openly one sided support for her.
Meanwhile I am waiting for more news on Andrew Garcia.
