Dinner at New York New York

This crepe was served to me by mistake but was later changed by manager after she noticed the waiter serve me wrong dish. I did not touch it :D

Today had a great dinner at New York New York restaurant, AMK Hub.

There was not so long queue today and I ordered mushroom soup, Chicken and Prawn combo and a dessert. It costs me as much as $40+ but I totally enjoyed it because of the cosy environment and no queue.

The mushroom soup was fantastic and really hot. I loved it.
The chicken and prawn combo, the chicken meat was not tender wholely but only partially. Did not finish chicken. The dessert was great. I ordered orange crepe and its sour and only sweet because of the scope of vanilla ice cream. It was really filling but not too much as I did not finish the fries and chicken.

After the great meal went an hour shopping at NTUC and then off I hop on bus back home to change and relax and countdown to 2009.

Bad lunch day
Today went to new Sembawang Plaza that was newly rebuild but waited for 20 mins no parking space. We decided to wait till Feb 09 to go again. So we drove to Yishun North Point.

I went to queue with my colleague for the famous indian food stall at food court. While I was chatting with my colleague he was ordering and then an old indian man cut my queue and ordered then left. I tried calling the female servers few times yet no one entertained me.

She go ahead and serve another chinese guy behind me. This time I am furious as I have queued 10 mins and waited another 5 mins yet call to the 3 servers no one bothered.

When she start serving the guy behind me, I call to her again and complain why I am queueing for so long yet she not serving me. She just continue serve the guy. I look at the guy and he stare at me like nothings wrong. I asked him why he order when he see me in front of him and there he goes scold me in front of other people.

He said "STUPID ! Scold the server not my problem". I have never seen such annoying and no manners person in my life. In other places at least courtesy to see someone in front complaining ask the server to attend to me first yet he just happy go and order and show me that kind of face and even scold me such words when all I ask is for him to respect someone queueing in front has not placed order.

Instead of further into any arguments with this arrogant man, I decide to keep quiet and walk away since there are so many people there I do not want to be misunderstood.

But don't let me see this idiotic man ever again in future. I have decided not to eat there anymore. Today is my last trip to the indian stall.

Singapore Flyer dream not come true
Recently seen photos of my Malaysian friends who came visit Singapore at flyer, I was kind of thinking about going there myself with my friends maybe during year end holidays. Well, just when I am about to plan for the ride the news broke out that the flyer has problems there are 100 over people got stuck for 6 over hours.

Now the Singapore flyer is still under investigation. It will not be open until after 2009 New Year. I do hope it will reopen soon. For now I am sure my dream will not come true not at least until 2009 :D

Quiet and peaceful day
Yesterday I went to church service at 8.30 am then give away a few christmas presents to my children service teachers and pastor came home
about 12 noon and took rest. I was not feeling that well extremely tired.

After that I went out 3.30pm to AMK Hub to have my lunch cum dinner and then went for the movie "Australia". I love to watch the lead actor. He is so well built and manly but honestly not the man in my dreams lah. I don't like hairy men(allergic). But he really look good in this movie. Nicole Kidman is cute too.

But the movie besides the lead I extremely love the little Boy Nala. He is so lively and smart. I wonder how old his actual age is. For those who loved romantic and historical movie highly recommend this movie. Its quite long about 2 hours 40 mins.

I would rate it 4 stars for the amazing cast, acting and beautiful scenary.

Happy giving out Christmas gifts

As Christians we celebrate Christmas not just about sharing gifts but celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Those who are Christians should remember John 3:16.

This year I have been lazy and too tired with work and gym. I was lagging in wrapping gifts. I gave away 2 christmas gifts without wrapping hahaha.

For the first time I actually received gifts from colleagues instead of giving out first. Today I give Christmas gifts to about 20 colleagues. Sorry I do not have enough to give everyone I know. I in fact just wrapped gifts yesterday and out of wrappers (so pai seh).

Today I received another 4 christmas gifts and I cannot help but finished one of the gift which is some nice sesame peanut candy. It was fantastic :D

Movies to recommend for Christmas
Those who would like a good laugh should go for following movies:

1) Highly recommended "Yes Man" by Jim Carrey (4/5 stars for the comedy, not recommended for children )
It was really funny and meaningful movie. It made everyone who watched it laugh throughout the movie.
http://yesisthenewno.warnerbros.com/

Yes Man posted the smallest gross for a top spot debut in two months. The last six films to open at number one this year all debuted with more than $30M each. But the studio should see solid numbers in the days ahead as audiences become more available. Plus Yes is one of very few funny and feel-good films this holiday season that won't make moviegoers cry by the end so that should make it stand out.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/yes_man/news/1787614/box_office_wrapup_audiences_say_yes_to_jim_carrey

2) Bedtime Stories by Ben Stiler (3/5 stars)
I heard this movie was great and watched the thriller. After watching I find this movie is more suitable for family with young children 12 and below. Adults might feel the story is too hard to believe (happy ending and plot too childish)

I still prefer Yes Man, I think I might go for 2nd time :D

Pet dogs abandoned
After I read more and more of such news about pet dogs being abandoned
due to the recession and economy crisis its really disheartening. But its really shocking that to manage a pet dog can come to £15,000 a year?

Other dog shelters and re-homing centers across the country are also at bursting point as a result of an increase in requests for re-homing and a decrease in people wanting to take on the responsibility of looking after a dog.

With insurance, food, grooming and toys, a dog's life can come with a price tag of £15,000 ($22,500), according to the Dogs Trust. And with millions of households tightening their belts as the credit crunch bites, some are opting give up their pets.

The increase in requests for re-homing is attributed to the financial crisis. Owners either have to move to dog unfriendly accommodation or can no longer afford to care for the animal after losing their job.

"Moving as a result of the credit crunch is the number one factor for giving up a dog," explains Moore. "People also ring up to say they can't afford to look after their dog anymore, because they've been made redundant."

Great christmas party 2008
Although my dream of winning 1st prize in company lucky draw not come true but at least I manage to win SGD50 Takashimaya voucher. I can now shop at Taka maybe after Christmas when there are more promotions.

I had great time this year in comparison to past 2 years. 2006 we had it at DXO then last year at one of the Hotels at Scotts Road. Somehow maybe due to I am quite new in the company I did not enjoy that much.

This year my department has grown as well as my relationship with my internal customers (Users). We had great time. I also drink couple of liquor drinks but did not get drunk.

I sharing photos here.

Andy Lau Rumored "wife" attended his 2nd night concert
Too bad I miss it. I actually look at the front few rows on the 1st night concert but did not catch her face. Anyway this is not new. Probably 15 years ago my friend who stayed in Cheras already told me where Andy's mansion is. It is somewhere in Cheras, KL. I did not bother to go look at the mansion. Few years later, there are people sighted Andy there and also seen photos of his son or daughter. If not wrong has 1-2 children.

Anyway for more details can read here. One thing can confirm he is definitely not single and has at least one child.

Met with Jac fan club friends

Leon, Me, Melissa and Kenny

Last friday night few of my Malaysian Idol FC friends (Jac FC) came to Singapore for few days vacation. I missed their sms as they sent to my old mobile. I happen to see their status at FB and then YM one of my closest Jac FC friend and get their contact. We arranged to meet today before they leave for KL.

They took this bus (Airbus) which is included in package. Each of them pay around RM600 for this trip. It includes 2 night stay at Oxford Hotel and bus fare. Seems they enjoyed this trip very much and looking forward to come again next year.

I took them to TCC for lunch and then shop for chocolates and some food at ISETAN supermarket. It was great to meet them again after more than a year. The last time I met them was last year August during IKON 2007 competition to support Jaclyn Victor.

Andy Lau World Concert 2008 - review from a non-fan

I bought the concert ticket not because I was a fan of Andy Lau. Besides watching his movies I did not listen to his songs other than during the 80s when he first came out to sing and my favourite Andy Lau song is "Wang Qing Sui".

The atmostphere at stadium was great everyone seems excited including me. Then I realised next to me there are 2 seats vacant. I could see many vacant seats at the $108 category. Not sure why its sold out yet cheapest seats still have many vacants.

Started well Andy Lau came out of sudden with smoke and nice stage. I would give high points for the wonderful stage and the screen which changes at the background according to the song Andy Lau Sang.

Honestly I only know probably 5-6 of Andy's songs, other than that while he is singing other songs which I am not familiar with made me feel "bored". I know I saw many of his fans so excited and screaming but I cannot help but feel "sian" whenever he dance. His steps are so slow and wood. I am sorry that to me he still cannot dance naturally and made me feel bored while seeing him dance and sing.

I was using my "binoculous" to see closeup of him and I cannot help but notice one of the song he sang and dance looks like "lip sync".

Other than this after getting bored for an hour he sang the last song and then when encore he came out with 2 children whom are human puppets rather cute. I woke up during this time and then get bored again. I look at its 11.10pm I decided to leave while Andy still encore songs. It seems the songs never end. And as I am getting so tired and sleepy I left with many people still enjoying the encore.

I can confirm that till now I am not Andy Lau fan. No matter how good looking he is and having to show off his gorgeous built and body it does not change my position about this idol. What I most dislike is he is trying to crack jokes and ask fans to call him "Leng Chei" (handsome) and say they love him etc etc. To me it really makes me feel "Yurks". Anyway he is already in his 40s going to be 50 soon.

Finally this will be the first and last Andy Lau concert for me. I have never felt bored in all the concerts I went. This is definitely first.

Taiwanese political writer likes Wei Lian
Today Wei Lian's fans found this article at Zhao Bao that mention that one Taiwanese Politician "Qiu Yi" and writer likes Wei Lian and mention about his songs and about his 2 trips to Singapore.

He said he came Singapore twice once to Sentosa and second trip for a talk. He find that if he stay in Singapore he would be damn bored. He has a younger brother who is now Singaporean.

He said he admire and love Wei Lian even till now he still loves his songs. He has good comments about Wei Lian's songs like "Ai Hen Nan" and how Wei Lian put in the emotions in delivering each songs. Wei Lian gave him the impression through his blindness he is able to project better feelings and emotions perhaps from the experience in his life. Wei Lian's songs are touching which comes naturally from him.

CNY vacation - 22nd Jan to 29th Jan 2009
After trying to find time to go Golden Mile to purchase my CNY tickets I finally did it 2 days ago. Seems Jan 23rd to 28th tickets are sold out. I have no choice but to purchase 22nd Jan to KL and 29th Jan back to Singapore. As I already used up most of my 2008 leave, I have to save my leave for CNY. Might even have to take advance leave.

Other than this my mum told me about recent tour bus accident. She asked me try to get train ticket instead of bus but I prefer to take the Grassland bus that stops opposite Time Square as its very convenient for me to go KL Central to change train back to my hometown. I am taking afternoon bus so should be alright.

My mum did not know which company bus that got into accident but I finally found out from my user that it was the SAME bus Grassland I purchased the CNY bus tickets from :D

I will pray for God's protection and mercy and bless my trip back to KL safely and return Singapore safely.

In Jesus name, Amen !

Towards year end users taking leave for vacations. Though alot of bad news about market from newspapers but life still have to go on. A lot of
stuff at work such as system issues and non-stop working everyday and sometimes from home at night still have to do testing.

Now I have to write down what I did on daily basis to make sure I keep track and follow up with my outstanding.

Its really work or exercise or sleep. Nothing else seems to be going on as not much time left to do other stuff.
