Google is marking its 10th anniversary by offering 10 million dollars to back world changing ideas.
Google promises to divvy up the cash between the five best ideas that spring from its Project 10 to the 100th, a reference to the numerical sum "googol" from which the Internet powerhouse took its name.
"Our company's very name expresses our goal of achieving great results through smart technology that starts small and scales dramatically over time to have a tremendous long-term impact," Google said in a website posting.
The deadline for submitting ideas to Google is October 20. A panel of Google employees will pick 100 top submissions to be announced on January 27, 2009.
Google users will then vote to determine 20 semi-finalists, from which a Google advisory board will select five winners.
This is funny and amazing. She does not look like 82. Has good figure too ! I sure like her to go few more rounds as she is really a born comedian.
"Alas, Cloris Leachman won't win another Emmy, or most likely this competition, for all her efforts. Though the hosts of reality fare got an Emmy category this year -- "DWTS' " Tom Bergeron lost to Jeff Probst of "Survivor" -- the competitors who make these shows so irresistibly watchable are not Emmy eligible."
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - After years of dodging questions, former "American Idol" singer Clay Aiken will acknowledge he is a gay man in an interview with People magazine set to run on its Web site Wednesday, according to media reports.
Celebrity site Perezhilton.com on Tuesday published a photo of the cover of People magazine's upcoming issue on which Aiken cradles his new son, Parker Foster Aiken, in his arms.
The caption reads "Yes, I'm Gay," and underneath is a quote from Aiken on his decision to come out of the closet that says: "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things."
In August this year, Aiken's friend, music producer Jaymes Foster, gave birth to the baby fathered by Aiken. A spokeswoman for People would neither confirm nor deny that Aiken told the magazine he is gay. But the magazine issued a statement saying, "We can confirm that Clay Aiken and his son appear on the next cover of People.
For the complete story, visit people.com at 7 a.m. (EDT Wednesday) (1100 GMT) morning." Aiken, 29, gained fame as a contestant on the No. 1-rated U.S. TV talent show "American Idol" in 2003. He was the runner-up that season but went on to build a solid singing career on his own. He currently appears on Broadway in "Monty Python's SPAMALOT."
For years, Aiken has dodged questions about whether he is homosexual despite persistent rumors on the subject. He has said, generally, that his sexuality was nobody's business but his own.
In 2006, ABC television's Diane Sawyer asked Aiken and he shot back that it was a "really rude" question. He also dodged it in a previous interview with People magazine saying that readers "are going to believe what they want."
American Idol Season 2’s runner-up and my former high school classmate Clay Aiken, 29, became a father this weekend. Aiken’s best friend, Jaymes Foster (age roughly estimated as 50) gave birth to a boy named Parker Foster Aiken at an unnamed hospital in North Carolina (Aiken’s home state). Foster is the sister of music producer David Foster, who often appears on Idol and has worked on past Aiken albums. Parker is the last name of Clay’s mom, Faye Parker, who gave an exclusive scoop about the birth to Raleigh TV station WRAL. Little Parker was born at 8:08 AM on 8/8/08, making him probably the most lucky kid ever. [Trivia: Princess Beatrice–daughter of Andrew and Fergie–was born on 8/8/88].
Aiken, a devout Christian who dodges questions about his sexuality, is romantically involved with Foster and fathered the child via artificial insemination. He plans to be a fully-involved parent. And, as everyone knows, the best way to prove you’re straight is to artificially inseminate a chick who is 20 years older than you. (I am sorry but I very disappointed in him who claim is a devout Christian yet .......................)
Looking forward to the new season. Been watching past 2 and loved it !
May-Treanor has been such a compliant student -- rehearsing constantly and allowing Chmerkovskiy to choose the moves, the music and the costumes -- that he just might lose his hardheaded reputation.
"I know what I'm doing and I feel like, with her, I don't have to prove it," Chmerkovskiy says. "She trusts that my best intention is for her to do the best she can."
She'll be competing with singers Lance Bass and Toni Braxton; TV personalities Brooke Burke and Kim Kardashian; actors Cloris Leachman, Cody Linley, Susan Lucci and Ted McGinley; comedian Jeffrey Ross; chef Rocco DiSpirito; NFL star Warren Sapp and fellow gold medalist Maurice Greene. The first couple will be eliminated Tuesday. (Chmerkovskiy, however, is confident enough that he has already ordered up five weeks' worth of costumes from wardrobe.)
The cast is the largest ever assembled for the ABC show, and it boasts the youngest (Linley, 16) and oldest (Leachman, 82) contestants in its history.
I spent about 2 days making the card one day inside and another day outside. Never really plan just think about design while working on card. Below snapshots our committee helping to add more stickers and beautifying the card.

These days there were so many shocking news. Its best for all of us to sit down and wait and not to over spend. You will never know what will happen next year. As of now Singapore will be feeling the pinch. By 2009 more financial companies will close, smaller manufacturing companies especially those exporting to Western Countries like US, UK and Europe will be affected. Companies are starting to cut cost and laying off people.
First its political unstability, Thailand, Malaysia and now financial crisis. Let's all pray that things will turn better.
I am rather shocked Malaysia being voted country with worst Taxi Drivers. I know and acknowledge Malaysia has many illegal taxis (Ba Wang Taxi) but as I hardly take cab I do not know the taxi rate has gone up so much. Tourists were being over charged by as much as 5-10 times the original price. I thought Bangkok Taxis are terrible. This is really unbelievable and embarassing for the country and Malaysians. There are many types of cabs in Malaysia I can say at least half of them are in pretty bad condition and old.

THE Yellow Sea was behind him, the cool sea breeze caressing his face. Standing in front of a choir on stage, blind Singaporean singer Kelvin Tan Weilian crooned the Olympics song Tong Zai Lan Se Xing Qiu Shang (Mandarin for On The Same Blue Planet).
The occasion: The opening ceremony of the 2008 Paralympic Sailing Regatta in Qingdao, China, on Sunday.
Kelvin, 27, was the only singer representing Singapore, performing alongside other artistes from China.
His name was submitted to the Olympics committee by his record label Warner Music a few months ago, and he was picked over a list of other disabled artistes.
Warner's marketing director James Kang said that Kelvin 'impressed' Chinese officials with his vocal powess when he toured China in May to promote his last album, I Weilian.
Chinese portal Chinanews reported that Mr Ning Xiaozhou, who directed the opening ceremony, said of Kelvin: 'Since joining showbiz, he has been showing an optimistic, self-confident and cheerful image.
'What he has displayed is exactly the same as the unyielding sporting spirit of our Paralympic athletes. That's why we invited him to perform at the opening ceremony.'
Kelvin's own take: 'The organising committee heard my album and felt I was suitable.
'Coincidentally I'm also blind so it was just nice.'
Before flying to Qingdao last Friday , he kept practising the Olympics song, which was originally sung by Hong Kong's Nicholas Tse and Joey Yung. When it was time to go on stage, though, Kelvin said he didn't feel nervous at all.
'It's okay, lah. I've gone on stage so many times, I'm used to it,' he said over the phone from Beijing yesterday, while waiting for his flight home. 'But I'm not very well known in China so it's a good opportunity for me to get good exposure.'
On stage, Kelvin was joined by Qingdao singer Sun Yajun and a choir comprising both children and adults.
He recalled chatting with Yajun during the two rehearsals held over the weekend, and they held hands while making their entrance onto the stage. Kelvin praised her good vocals and said he could sense she is a tall woman. 'But I don't know if she's pretty or not,' he added with a laugh. When asked to describe the live ambience, he remembered the cool sea breeze.
'The air is fresher too,' he added. As for the crowd response, he said 'they did cheer for me, but it sounded like a few hundred people and not like thousands.' Well, he was wrong.
Reports say that more than 2,000 people attended the opening ceremony for the Paralympic Sailing Regatta, including 80 athletes from 26 countries. Singapore also sent a team, and Kelvin met with some of the members on Sunday to cheer them on.
After his performance, the singer celebrated with his colleagues over a barbecue dinner and 'a few' glasses of Qingdao's famous beer, which he described as 'more fragrant' than other brands he has tried. Did he get drunk?
With a laugh, he said: 'Do you think I'll get drunk so easily? I'm not a good drinker but I'm under control.
'Anyway, when I'm drunk, I just go to sleep, I won't get rowdy. I'm a menace only when I'm sober and talking non-stop.'
Currently WLFC is organizing WLFC 2008 Birthday Bash on 26th Sept 2008 (FRI) Dinner and Games. Venue will not be disclosed until registration is confirmed by payment 19th Sept.

I always loved to see people dance and dance competitions saw these two they were both great. But my heart goes to George as his dance is more original and he dance solo and only 14 years old. While the duo the thinner Indian guy can dance MJ moves brilliantly but too much of a copy to win 1st prize.
Winner crowned
George Sampson Britain's Got Talent Final -
Britain's Got Talent Final - Signature - Suleman Mirza
3rd place winner with an angelic voice but too bad Paul Potts won it previously its nothing special and British fans looking for something different and dancers have their votes this time
