Today I arrive for fitness training around 5.50pm and started doing cycling for about 10 mins. After Mike came and ask me to go start training. Today I was trained on legs. Mike ask me to do 20 times 3 for leg machine carry 20kg weight. Then we move on to another machine did 15 times 3 for lower leg exercise 10kg. Then we move on to do cardio to burn 50 calories then move again to carry 10lbs weight and then do squad and stand exercise. Did this 30 times then go to do cardio burn 50 calories for 3 rounds.
After this exercise I was asked to do cardio again for 10 minutes then followed by lying down and do push up manually holding the 2kg ball from Mike. I had to do in total 40 times. That's all for today's exercise. Was pretty tired. Mike asked me to call him next Sat 9th Jan after come back from CNY holidays to arrange time for training on Sunday 10th Jan.
Looking forward to CNY holidays but worried I might eat too much. I must constantly remind myself not to eat so much.
After I taken bath and change I went to weight myself 2nd time after I started my fitness training. After 12 lessons and about 5 times train on my own I have lost about 8 lbs (3.5kg). This is still very far from the targeted 10kg I want to cut. Hopefully I am able to continue loosing weight and reach this weight.
I bought 2 jeans today one size 32 and another size 30 (bigger cutting). I am really excited must wear more jeans and motivate myself to work harder to loose more. I am planning to exercise when back home at least 30 mins daily on my own. Wish me all the best ok?

Yesterday had my 11th fitness training. I went to gym could not see Mike and its already 6 pm so I went ahead to cycle but after 7 mins he came looking for me and then hit my shoulder "Pat !" He look normal (seems not affected by my last angry tone to him) as usual so mischievious and playful. Tell me finish in 10 mins and we go and do the training and make faces at me. "Today I will give you a very tough training, toughest so far!"
"Gulp!" I start to think about the last training where my right thigh muscle ache for 3 days I had to apply alot of musle pain reliever cream to ease the pain. I actually tried my luck to request Mike to train my arms instead. I told him I seem to get right side muscle pain more than left and the last pain lasted 3 days. Mike amazingly said "OK!" As you requested we will train your arms and warn me that my muscle seems too tight and its not good(Yippie this is what I felt inside of me)
I was asked to train on different weight machines for my arms. First I was asked to carry 20kg weight using one weight machine for 15 times 3 rounds then move on to another machine carry 10kg then 20kg weight for 3 rounds of 20 times each. After this I was asked to go and pull 10kg weight sitting on the large ball. This is quite tough as when I pull my body will move and I had to ensure I sit still. Did this for 2 rounds of 20 times.
Then I move on to do my abdominal training and pull 1700 m instead of 1500m (Initially Mike forgot thought I did 1000 last time so this time 1500m but I corrected him and then I regretted :( Mike told me "Hmm I think you must be wishing you never correct me now you have to pull 1700m"
After this I proceed to use cardio machine for burning 40 calories. Upon completion, I move on to another machine which train my abdonmen and buttocks. I had to lie face down and leg locked. Then I move my upper body down and with my hands crossing my heart. I have to do this 20 times for 2 rounds. It is not easy upon 2nd round I can feel my stomach and buttock aching.
Finally I was asked to move on to lie down on another machine, My legs were to push against the steel board and I have to manually pull my upper body up. Did this for 3 rounds 20 times each.
Finally I was asked to stop and do cardio for 30 mins my choice any level. So I managed to burn 230 calories for this 30 mins workout.
It was not too bad actually enjoyed doing some of the new exercise. Now I am worried for tonight's training :S Hopefully I can take it.
Seems that there are so many contestants who cannot remember lyrics at this audition. The 1st contestant was such a big fan of AI that he bought all the judges gifts and even won Simon's heart that he agree to let him introduce people at red carpet hahaha.
Then there are shots of so many contestants who forgot lyrics especially the guy who totally kept quiet after forgetting lyrics and look so blank in his face.
The more scary contestant Sarah Whitetaker is this former wrestler who look like vampire with her makeup and laugh. Gosh......Simon said she is like singing sound track for the town.
Samantha is one of the good ones. She has this voice that attracts people when she sang. I like the tone of her voice :) Ryan has his chance to be a judge for this one time. Angelica is so sweet and for her age she was great but she has to stop to sing like Celine Dion. Wish her well.
Rocker David Cook sang well for the audition. At least he did not try to imitate Bon Jovi.
This wierd contestant Johnny wore a shiny shirt and dance/sing wierdly. Glad he did not go next round as he does not even know what he was doing there.
Final contestant Leo Marlowe is not bad, nice guy and has a nice voice. Glad he got in.
My day is brighter today. At 10 am Helpdesk informed me that my SIM card has arrived. So I just leave my computer and BB phone with them for 2 hours and I went out 10.30am for early lunch. I took bus to Yishun North Point and had my Korean noodles for lunch then took cab to MC office to collect 1st Feb recording tickets but was told that its not ready. I went back to office at 12 noon upon arrival I was told tickets was ready so I got dear TJ to help me collect (THANKS!)
To my shock I was told we have 100 tickets and not 80 as requested and only those 18 above can attend. So now I am left with extra 40+ tickets. I am still trying my best to find more people to go. Hopefully I can. Wish me all the best ya!
I saw my notebook on my desk and realised my BB is ready. Now my phone is back to service. Really missed it for 24 hours so inconvenient without it.
Today thought I would have a great lunch but too bad such a terrible day to start of. After eating lunch at the Bottle Tree restaurant at Yishun, while walking out of the washroom I was holding my company mobile phone and it just slip out of my hand and drop on the ground. The ground was made of wood and in between each piece of wood there is small gap. Somehow I saw a small item drop inside the gap to the pond underneath I thought my Memory card drop I can always replace a new card but too bad it was my SIM card. Now I have to request from my IT helpdesk a replacement by 1st Feb and my personal contacts some of them I have to reenter.
Then after my colleague reach my office building car park, while I get down from car I kick on to the divider and cut side of my left foot. I did not know that the cut was quite deep till it hurt quite a bit and I went to get some oilment and plaster to apply. The oilment seems to hurt more after applying on the cuts and I had to adjust the plaster so that it does not make the cuts worst. There was about 3 cuts, 2 deep and one just a scratch.
Today came across this news. Another case of healthy person age 39, who died out of sudden while sleeping. She just slept and never wake up like MC King recently. Wonder why there is such rise of young adults who died in sleep. She just won an award the day before.
Seems that she might have drunk too much and suffer from breathing difficulties just before she went to bed to rest. She died due to heart failure. So sad leave behind 2 children. May she rest in peace.
Today my boss emailed my team to inform that we would have early department lunch for CNY.
I was rather surprised why so soon? Well seems that 3 of us in team are Malaysians and we would be away next week and some will be back only after 11th Feb. Therefore its better to have it earlier.
On Saturday after my gym I saw this stage performance by "Alamak" and "Da Li" they are acting as brother and sister with "Lao Fu Ji" and "Da Fan Su". Quite funny act. Later evening then walk at 3rd floor and see Mark Lee and another actor they just finish shooting this Mediacorp Game show.
So lucky last weekend at AMK Hub met and seen a few Mediacorp actors. Well, not that big fan of them but somehow they are still famous especially Mark Lee :P
Actually I have not think of this question yet. So far I probably just cut 3% or max 5% of fat out of the 20% I need to cut. So when my 5 months personal fitness training is over I believe it depends on whether I achieve the 20% fat loss. Else I need to plan more trainings to be continued after following are something that I should do:
1. Join 2 weekly classes (Yoga/Pilate/Body Pump etc). At the moment I just started to be more fit. But still not fit enough to go for classes like Body Pump. Like "Lalang" said I still need sometime which I agree. This will replace the one to one fitness training 2. Go for 2 personal exercise. Each time I must target to burn min 500-700 calories. If I can improve my stamina by then, I should plan to burn 700-800 calories after 5 months since now I am able to do 450 calories on my own just after 5 weeks. 3. I can opt to add additional 10 more sessions (this will be final) if I want my trainer to continue a bit longer
Other than this I must follow sensible routine:
a. Cut rice from mon-fri diet. If I have lunch or dinner invitations I can replace rice with porridge or noodles.
b. No dessert after full dinner. Dessert can be replaced by tea, coffee, or fruits. If I plan to go for dessert with friends then I should have light dinner.
c. Follow minimum 3 times weekly exercise routine of at least 1 hour to 1.5 hours each. If I have busy schedule I can cut to 2 times weekly but try to do basic exercise at home on daily basis like carry weight at home etc.
Of course these are things I should do:
a. I should wear my old dresses again. I have alot of nice dresses (one piece) but I stop wearing since 2004 after I put on weight. I do hope to fit in them again
b. Maybe I can start planning to learn other activities like tennis, squash or maybe go for ballroom dancing who knows if by then I have interest
There are many other things I can do. So I do hope I meet my target of cutting 15% fat by end of 5 months (I have 3.75 months to go) and continue another 2 months intensive exercise program to cut the other 5%.
Dearest Tom suggested to go Mushroom Park restaurant for 3 purpose: a. Celebrate Frankie's birthday and he is a vegetarian b. Celebrate Christie's freedom after given birth to cutest baby c. Me for my fitness training and achieving some results
About 10 of us suppose to go but at the end where is Tom who asked Fang to organize? This is the first time I go for makan without the organizer. Anyway since Tom is not able to attend due to work matters (Wow I heard his boss left and he has to temporary fill in. Hmm Tom I think you will be promoted soon!!!!)And Fang she informed some but did not inform me and Dawn that Tom will not be attending.
Anyway we quite enjoy the restaurant food something different for a change. I tried Dawn's vegetarian mushroom soup and it taste better than the chicken mushroom soup we had. As for the mushroom its the first time I ever have so much mushroom consume at same time. As for the price its kinda steep. We had to pay $25.80++ pp for dinner which is the cheapest set. I ordered mushroom rice $3 separately which was not charged since I have ordered set. As for vegetarian the price is around $36.80++. With HSBC credit card we get 10% off.The set lunch looks good $9.80 pp on offer now.
The service is very good. A man who serve us not sure if he was boss or manager is very attentive. He also sound like Malaysian. I bought 2 tin of vegetarian mushroom floss which was tasty. I can eat this whenever I crave for meat floss. I am bringing one tin to Malaysia hoping I can be on diet to eat this during CNY instead of too much meat.Also will leave the balance for my parents to eat.
Yesterday while I was in my fitness training my trainer Mike ask me a question which I never think he would have asked me. Maybe I was tired that time trying to finish pulling 1500m while exercising or I just felt a bit offended? I really not sure.
The question he asked me is
"Pat did u just come from work today?" My reply is I do not work on saturdays.
"What do you usually do if you are not working?" My response was unhappy with this question. I said "WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?" After I response to his question, I realised I might be a bit rude in my tone. So I changed and rephrase, "what I meant is I do not quite get your question". So he asked me again "What is your past time activities when on your off days?" I actually wanted to tell him I serve once a month at church and helping someone to handle WLFC affairs. But I just don't want to complicate things. I find it not necessary for my trainer to know too much of my personal affairs.
Mike responded with a smile. I am not sure what that means but I did not really care. He seem to be ok with my reply. He might be laughing as he thinks I am those lazy bump who never exercise that's why I put on so much weight. Or else ...................... I don't think he would care about me personally since I just know him 5 weeks. Anyway if I see him again today at gym I would be careful not to be affected by the incident yesterday. (Hohoho)
Till now I do not really understand why I felt offended by his question. Is it the tone he ask me or is it because I find that he is too busy body? I really not sure.
I had my 10th training session. Mike ask me to complete burning 100 calories through cycling. After that we proceed to machines to lift weight for my lower legs using 2 different leg machines doing 20 times each for 3 rounds (total 60 times) and then do squad and stand exercise for 15 times each leg and 3 rounds (90 times). After this we move on to use another machine which is for thighs for 30 times weight increase from 10kg, 15kg then 25kg. Did this for 3 times = 90 times.
After proceed to use the machine which is for training my legs and abdomen, pull 1500 meters. Finally after all these I was asked to use stepper for 5 mins. This is the final exercise for today. Though it seem fairly easy but there was no break in between and I felt my right lower leg musle a bit of strained. So exercise stop here for today.
2nd feb to 8th Feb I will be in Malaysia so I will have less training next 2 weeks. I will be celebrating CNY with family.
I will take time today to go gym for my own exercise. Meanwhile next week's training (Friends do take note). If I have time I will try go to gym again tomorrow (Monday). Although I have requested for international pass to use gym when I am in Malaysia but at the moment I am unsure if I can go need to checkout my schedule and the location.
Next week training: Wed: 6pm (30th Jan) Thu : 6pm(31st Jan) I will be back to Singapore 9th Jan morning. Will blog less after 31st Jan.

The food I order. Mine was Baby Seabass with clam and shrimp $42. The upper layer is made of shrimp dip in sesame and bottom layer is seabass. Taste great. I also ordered green beans with peanuts as side dish cost $10 its nice.
YUMMY appetizers and soup. My boss order the crab item (greenish and white dish) and he said its was great. While my colleague ordered the softshell crab and he told me it was just alright and he did not like the orange sauce which has ice in it. I ordered this fantastic WILD MUSHROOM soup which is the best I had so far in any restaurant. A must try item.

I ordered orange surprise (with magarita) its quite nice. The black drink is Long Island Tea my colleague does not like the taste. And the one in red is cocktail.
Tonight I had my first experience eating at highest restaurant at Hotel Fairmoint (formerly Swissotel, next to Raffles City shopping Mall). It was nice atmosphere and we took quite a number of photos before it turn dark but night photos did not turn out so well. Besides that we had quite great dinner. I order baby seabass which came out tasty and interesting. I also ordered Wild mushroom soup $16 which was most satisfying and filling. Besides that I enjoy the Orange drink I ordered but it costs $18 and its content has liquor. My dept five of us went and 2 US visitors and one Indian colleague, total 8 people.
Meanwhile those interested to visit Equinox Restaurant please remember to book first. You need to prepare at least $80 per person if u want to dine there. But for once a life time experience its worth it to go on fridays or weekends as you get to go up Asian Bar free of charge if you dine at Equinox. The Asian Bar is quite small but its one of the hot night spot in Singapore. I would not recommend to go there for the food though as for the price the food is not that great but the view and atmosphere is great. But I do enjoy the bread, the wild mushroom soup and my plate of baby seabass.
Sharing some of the photos I took during concert. Well I am testing my new camera and it seems to be working well as I zoom more than 20 times and able to take quite close up video though I was sitting at Category $138 ticket but quite close to stage.
Well maybe many do not know that I come from parents who were musically inclined. My dad knows how to play a few instruments but turn out to be a primary school teacher as during 50s being a musician does not pay well. My mum used to sing and perform in school and she claims to be a great singer. Well, I know all my family members include my siblings can sing but none of us work in the music industry. I am the only child in my family who knows how to read chinese as all of my siblings include myself was educated in english and malay and none of us ever study chinese from primary to secondary.
As my parents were bilingual and know chinese and english, since young I am exposed to different kinds of music. My dad can read music notes, loves instrumental and classical music and english, malay and chinese while my mum is chinese song lover. So I get exposed to different kind of music. Due to my interest to sing chinese songs and watching Hong Kong chinese serials, I started to learn how to write in chinese at home coach by my parents on basic chinese characters. I managed to improve further by reading chinese newspapers and learn how to write daily copying words from news article slowly and my dad bought me english-chinese dictionary for me to refer.
When I move to secondary school my exposure to chinese language was greater as I have more friends joining me at school who came from chinese primary. They taught me more about chinese language and we share chinese music. At that time we are more towards listening to Cantonese and Hong Kong singers. I started with Sam Hui (my sister's idol), Danny Chan, Alan Tam, Anita Mui and finally Jacky Cheung. I still recall my group of friends who are Karaoke fans we used to go sing K almost every week. And I would always challenge our group best singer a guy who called Alan and we gave him nick Alan Tam. He can sing almost exact like Alan Tam but not as good looking though.
As I too like to sing, I would always learn new songs to challenge Alan. We both love Alan Tam and Jacky Cheung and that was ages ago. Now we no longer in contact. When I move to Singapore to work 10 years ago, I started to listen more to Mandarin songs. Before that I do listen to Eric Moo, Wang Jie, Pan Mei Chen, Emil Chau, Chi Ching and a few old Taiwanese singers but still at that time in Malaysia, Cantonese songs were more popular.
I grew to enjoy listening more mandarin songs than Cantonese after Jacky and Alan Tam both stop accepting awards. I kinda miss them. Later I started to listen to singers like Sally Yeh, Jay Chou, A-Mei, Fish Leung, and now Kelvin Tan, I love mandarin more. Somehow when I sing I can forget about work or other stressful matters. But I only like to sing in Karaoke and not perform for people as I am not a performer (haha).
I do have a few experiences performing for audience. I was a choir member in secondary school from sec 1 to 3. In church I used to be in the worship team for about 2 years but stop now. I ever perform once at church suppose to sing in a group but end up sing solo when the rest could not sing. Somehow my 'yung chi' just came out of sudden after realising my group members open their mouth but no voice coming out from their mouth and in front of few hundred people its embarassing if I keep quiet just because I do not want to be discovered and ask to sing solo in future. I tried to keep my singing ability from others as I never enjoy performing on stage solo. That is how my singing talent was discovered and was invited to join worship team. This is not something I enjoy as I find it stressful leading worship so I move to be member in worship team instead.
Then in 2004 I was being 'sabo' to join IT idol competition where 6 IT staff were selected. Only 1 was volunteering the others were voted and mine was being selected by my ex boss and my colleague wrote a program to vote more than 1000 times for me so I was automatically participate without knowing till last minute, I got most vote. It was the most stressful experience I ever had. I am bad in remembering lyrics so the committee prepare tv for me so that I could read lyrics. But that time I was so stressful I just sing quickly so that I can get over with the competition and out of sudden a guy turn up with bouquet of flowers to present to me halfway during the competition (arranged by my ex boss, the guy is one of IT staff from another dept). This actually interrupted my performance and after that I kinda forget the lyrics. But still thank to my 2 male colleagues who cannot sing, I somehow manage to get 3rd place out of 6 contestants. I was happy that I need not sing another song which was required for the final 2 contestant.
Well, I admit I can sing but I am not a great singer and can never be as good as recording artistes. If I was 10 years younger, I can consider joining vocal school to improve my high notes which was my weakest point and join singing competition but I no longer have this interest.

A Mariah Carey fan thinks she is very good and chose Mariah song for audition. A terrible Mariah follower! She tried so much to sing like Mariah but did terribly.
Black Couple (Monique and Christopher ) - Whitney wannabe audition singing Whitney's song but spoilt it. Honestly its horrible. But sorry to see her cry. Christopher is not any better cannot sing yet kept trying to sing different songs and with higher and lower tones when judges commented that he cannot sing.
AI biggest fan - A contestant who has a mother biggest fan of AI. He auditioned for AI5 wearing statue of Liberty costume but was kicked out before he finish singing.

He said ending is happy so Simon gave him chance to sing last happy note but it does not proof to Simon that his song has a happy ending. Simon add on to say that his song is very gloomy and he did not like it. So sorry Alberto you did not make it. Alberto cry when he went out of audition room and hug his mother.
I arrive at fitness center 5.50pm and manage to get changed by 6 pm. While walking towards cardio machine, Mike saw me and told me we should start now but ask me to pick a number 1 to 10 which will determine what warmup exercise I should do. I pick no 7 and was told to do 7 mins of cardio at level 3. I completed 7 mins but Mike was busy talking to another trainer and forgot about the time. I did 15 mins cardio instead.
Then we move on to start exercise. Today my main focus is to train my arms. I was asked to be trained using 4 different machines. Each machine I was asked to do 3 rounds of 15 times each. Total 180 times and weight increase from 15kg to 20 kg this time. After complete the 4 machines I move on to another location to train using my arm to pull 15kg weight on 3 different weights 2 rounds of 20 times each. I also had to carry 10kg weight for 40 times. Today I spent 30 mins on arm training of 280 times. Cannot believe I did so much. Towards end trainer help me to complete the lifting as its pain to my arms. My arms just not used to carry weight for such a long time.
Then we move on to exercise on 5 different training, cardio, trademill, cycling, stepper and another new machine. Each machine I was asked to burn 30 calories which is equal to 150 calories burnt in 20 mins which is quite a lot compared to average 100 calories for 15 mins that I used to do.
Now if I train on my own 1 hour I can burn min of 300~400 calories on average using 4 different machines. If I train under trainer I can burn 400~500 calories per session depending on type of exercise I do.
Mike told me today not to stop eating chicken, I must cut chicken rice but I can eat chicken meat without skin. The whole plate of chicken rice = 500 calories. I cannot imagine doing so much training and waste on a plate of chicken rice. I can just cut down on rice but eat 1/3 bowl of rice if I want to eat rice. Generally I should cut down carbo but increase on protein intakes.
Saw this news about Ella paid SGD3000 to join fitness center to get fit with a personal trainer. Similar like what I am doing now except I am to reduce fat % and get fit. I have one more reason to hire personal trainer :P
This morning while I was checking news at omy.sg I saw this shocking news that "Brokeback Mountain" Hollywood and Australian actor Heath Ledger past away in his apartment in New York at age 28. Death reason unknown but suspected to be either drug overdose or suicide. He died of such a young age. Though I was not a big fan of him but I do read US entertainment news and he is one of the younger actors whom I do get updated news often. He used to date older actress Heather Graham but broke off when she wanted to get married. He then got engaged with Michelle Williams also his co-star. Left behind a young daughter from ex-fiancee Michelle Williams.
Recently saw movie trailer from cinema for upcoming Batman movie where he acted the role of The Joker. I intend to watch this movie. With his sudden death, I will definitely catch his last act.
Just last week I shared the 2 links on viewing WL's China interview on maxtv.cn. Some of fans include myself was unable to view them. I managed to catch them at a fan's house. Catch some funny snap shots using my mobile so some of you can see.
There is one part where the male host request female host to reveal her feelings to WL before he sings the song "I love you".
During that "reveal feelings" act, WL actually laughed and blushes.
Recently I got this egg plant as a Christmas present from a friend. I took it out and water daily for 5 days but nothing happened.
Read the instructions its supposed to grow after water for 7 days. Called the friend who bought me this present told me to put it near window. As I have this placed in my cubicle in office, I moved it to window where my boss room used to be and its vacant now.
I left it there for another 4 days. I checked daily nothing, then after weekend when I was back to work after 3 days I saw green leaves growing. I was so excited.
Today was my 8th fitness training. I started with 20 mins cardio before proceed to train my legs today. I was asked to use the leg weight machine for 4 rounds of 20 times each. Later I had to carry 3 kg ball and do the squad and stand exercise holding ball up. I had to do it 3 rounds of 20 times each. I went over to the leg machine to do 10 mins exercise for my legs. Later move to have 10 mins walking on the machine. This was my first time Mike adjusted speed slowly from 7 to 13.5 and then slowly reduce it.
Mike could see I was tired today so we ended at 50 mins training and 20 mins cardio. Next lesson on wednesday. I was told not to eat any rice for 2 weeks :P In fact I have cut rice out of my diet on weekdays. I only eat once or twice over weekend and only half bowl each time.
This week I am going to have one team dinner and another lunch buffet treat by IT colleague. I have to control myself from over eating this week.
Today Mike was back from NS to give me 8th training. Maybe its been a week since he last trained me I felt a bit easy to tire compared to last time. Mike has another student so we started 30 mins later. I did cardio and cycling for 30 mins. Mike came and ask me to go over for training. We first start with machine to train my arms. 5kg then 10kg to pull 20 times each. Then move on to another weight machine - 10kg weight for 20 times training my arms then did the squad and sit for 20 times and did 3 rounds total of 120 times. Then we went over to do the exercise for my arms pulling 10kg weight followed by steps. 20 times each round. We did 4 rounds total of 80 times. The steps I was required to carry huge ball while I step up and down. It was pretty tiring for my arms as I seldom train arms. So it gets tired easily. Towards 3rd round my arms getting tired and I have to ask trainer to allow me short break as I cannot lift up my arms. At the end upon completion trainer told me this is last round.
I move over to train my legs. Did 10 minutes leg exercise on machine. Subsequently I was asked to train cycling, Mike kept adjusting the level from 2 to 5 to 7 and without me knowing. He kept asking me to go faster and I tried my best to move as fast as I can. Imagine I have already did it 30 mins before start Mike's training. My legs were getting tired too. Lastly after complete 10 mins cycling we move on to do push up. I was really tired this time, I manage to push up and hold for 28secs just 2 secs behind. After Mike ask me to do another time give me 1 min break. My 2nd try I manage only 25 secs. Mike was pushing me to tell me I must be able to do it. Then 3rd round I tried my best to hang on but not sure if I manage to get 30 secs, Mike did not mention but allow me to end the training. I told him my arms cannot take it. He praised me for working hard today. Then he asked if I knew my body has improved, loose any weight, asked me to go get my weight.
After I took bath and change, I weight myself 2nd time after 1 month joining program and 8 lessons, I have lost around 5~6lb=2.5 kg. It would have been better results if Mike has not taken a week break and I lost 3 lessons this month. Feb there would be another week break for CNY where I would not be in Singapore. Therefore Feb results could be slower concerning long holidays and shorter month.
I do hope I get this result loose 2.5 kg a month x 5 = 12.5kg loss. Keep my finger cross.
Next week my fitness training schedule would be: Mon - 6 pm Wed - 6 pm Sat - 3 pm If anyone wants to date me remember to arrange on other days or different timing.
When concert started People are high during concerts
This was given free to all fans sitting at category 1 to 4
Me and my friend went for Jay's concert. We bought ticket 1st day when its on sales for OCBC card member but the sistic system was unable to access almost whole day. Finally I was at Bishan J8 queue 1.5 hours (only 8 people in front of me) for my 2 category 3 tickets. Initially wanted to get category 1 but both category 1 and 2 tickets left bad seats. So decided to get category 3. Not too bad got Block T34 (around 2nd block from stage) and Row 18. Pretty good actually. Did not regret going for the concert. Want to get some souvenirs but was surprised alll sold out at 5pm need to preorder. It seems the previous night many fans bought them and stock finish earlier than expected. I went to a number of concerts in 2007. The best being Jacky Cheung 2007 and A-Mei 2007. But now after went to Jay's concert the feelings at concert is high from beginning to end. Most fans stood to watch and wave while Jay's performing. While other concerts start get high from middle or towards ending. Maybe because the songs performed were different for Jay. his mostly R & B and rap and some slow numbers while Jacky and A-Mei were mostly slower sad love songs.
If you ask me to rate I will say Jay's concert can be as equally good as Jacky and A-Mei with difference that he might not be able to sing as well as both but he has other talents that fill in what was lacking. He can play musical instruments like piano and guitar very well. But what I have seen last night was he able to play drum as well as 'chinese 'qing' for the song Fa Ru Xue. Pretty impressive. He can also rap very well and act in movie. Even display Bruce Lee kungfu. A multi talented artiste.
Slight disappointment was his performance of Ju Hua Tai. The beginning was pretty bad as he started very slow and seems to stop in between more than twice. Not sure if its because he was still recovering from flu so was unable to sing in his best form but towards end he was able to pull through. (Still for Ju Hua Tai WL still sang the best so far) But overall I was impressed that Jay was able to sing live for almost all the songs without any problems like not in tune.

This is picture of my left thigh, previously my thigh size was the same width from inner thigh to bottom. Now you can see that bottom part of my thigh has shrunk quite a bit in compared to my inner thigh.
Took this photo just 10 minutes ago. I was able to wear this belt which previously I can only buckle the last 2 holes. Now I am able to buckly the 5th holes from end. Which I lost 4 holes length. They are mostly loss of my tummy. Now I no longer have 2 spare tyres just one. :)
Well my friends asked me how effective was the fitness training. Did I made any measurements of my weight etc. Yes my trainer did measure before I start this program but he has not asked for any other measurements recently. I did once after 2 times training I lost just 1 lb. Right now I do feel the effects but I have yet to measure as I want to measure after my 10th training session. Right now I have just completed 7 session and my trainer was in NS. I will continue my 8th session on saturday.
I would like to congratulate myself for my 1st achievement to fit into my jeans again after saying goodbye to it 1 year 2 months ago. (Within this period I have put on 8 kg)
Meanwhile these are the results: a. I was able to get into my jeans which I stop wearing since Nov 2006. I was unable to get through even my thighs as they have gone alot bigger since then.
b. I was unable to zip up my skirts and working pants but was able to for all of them since 2 weeks after starting my fitness training (after 3 sessions).
In Summary, I lost alot of my tummy and lower part of my thighs and some around my abdomen area. Well this won't work if I did not follow strict diet to cut down rice intake and replace fried food with stir fry or fresh meat like fish and eggs instead of chicken and pork. Also increase intake of vegetables and take smaller meals more often than 3 full meals. Less sugar intake so I cut down on sweet pastry and desserts after lunch and dinner.

Wow, I am so excited tonight. With the Hollywood writers strike still ongoing, a number of US dramas were interupted and ended earlier than expected as the strike seems will go on another few months. Meanwhile am very excited with AI7 which started today. I just watched the 1st Philadelphia audition.
Man who pass audition lost 205 lbs
Quite a number of good singers. Was impressed with this guy who lost 205 lbs before the interview. He has a great voice, if not wrong his name is Joey and the 1st contestant who was shown for audition.
Tour guide who cannot sing
There is one black contestant James who was a tour guide that did not make it. Personally I was really shocked with his voice. He totally cannot sing and wierd thing is when he sang his voice sounds wierd as if like he has no teeth.
He who misses Christmas
There is this guy who sang White Christmas. Gosh, cannot imagine if I am one of the judges. He looked great but just cannot sing and he ended audition half way with no proper end of the song :S
The worst Frank Sinatra impersonator
Gosh another horrible contestant who said his friends said he sang like Frank Sinatra but when open his mouth sound wonderfully terrible. I wonder if his friends are honest with him. He sang with no proper tune. What made him think he can even win the competition? For goodness sake can he sing in front of public and get honest feedback before even go for audition?
Chris one of the best contestant from Philadelphia with good looks. Has winner good looks and voice too! Wow this handsome black guy Chris 20 years old, gave me a great impression. Think he can go top 5 :)

Then there is this Star Wars girl Christina. Her singing is just average and she is lack of singing technique. Not good enough for AI. Yet she was angry for not getting through. (Poor looser!)

Next terrible contestant is Alexis. I don't understand what she was singing and its just shouting or screaming? Not only that she look terrible wierd and her makeup is not right for the audition. She looked so manly and wierd yet she was scolding Simon after the audition hahahaha :P

This is damn funny. A social worker singer songwriter who looked extremely old half bald and with funny moustache. Already 39 years old. "No sex allowed" is the song he written for audition and he said judges must listen to it. Such a wierd person a horrible song and wierd looking old guy.

This male contestant wore a black costume and then remove it inside he has really wierd bra like and piece of cloth that cover his bottom. Cannot understand what he is trying to do. When the judges could not stand his hairy look he volunteer to go and shave before return for audition yet he cannot sing and miss the chance to go next round.
This lady is one of the ones who did not make it. She cried and the judges console and accompany her out of the audition room. So touching......

There is another male contestant who looks like a stalker who wrote song for Paula Abdul. Such a wierdo. Its creepy definitely and scary.

Then there is this female contestant She has this 50s singing style. I kinda like her but find that it could be difficult for her to win. Glad Paula and Randy let her get to next round. 29 contestants got in to next round.
Tomorrow will be Texas audition. Looking forward to it.
Sharing my favourite dinner fish soup with 'mian sian' which I usually order after my fitness training for dinner. Usually I will just order the soup without rice or noodles. But if I am very hungry I will order 'mian sian' but won't finish the whole thing only the fish soup :P
I went to shoe store at AMK Hub Basement 1 yesterday and bought 2 pairs of $10 shoes. Seldom I buy such cheap shoes. Here I take photo of one pair which is flat and its black. I prefer flats as I am not able to walk properly if shoes are above 2 inches high.
There are a number of varieties of buns and cakes but too sweet for me :P

Each time my fitness training was over I will long to have some tea and toast bread. Toast box at AMK Hub was the favourite spot for nice tea and toast bread. Each time I would think about the wonderful Teh C and Toast bread with meat floss. Yummy !
For those who heard of the local artiste MC King's sudden death, he is one of them. How come young people can die out of sudden. Someone in 20s or 30s can just sleep and the next thing they just did not wake up anymore. I cannot imagine I will be in this situation one day. Glad I take up fitness training. Better start earlier before its too late.
Singapore Heart Center reported 2001-2003, 200 youth died sudden death. In 2003 report, daily in Singapore there are 3 people died of sudden death. 90% of them were male and aged 18-60.
A medical expert said there could be 2 reasons (1) related to heart disease (2) cause by sudden sickness

Yesterday I went to fitness center on my own since my trainer is at camp. Mike called me around 3 pm to tell me that he cannot make it for my training and I had to go alone. I wanted to leave office at 5 pm but was asked to wait for meeting by my boss. Unfortunately I waited till 6 pm but no sign of him so I end up taking company bus at 6.15 and went to fitness center at 6.50pm. I did 5 mins cardio felt tired then I switch to do 10 mins cycling then 5 mins stepper. Took short break then went to do another 10 mins cardio and 10 mins leg training machine. I almost wanted to stop. Not sure why felt extremely tired this day maybe due to 2 days on flu medicine. I actually did not take during lunch so that I can go for training. Anyway I force myself to do another 10 mins cardio before stop for the day. I ended 10 mins earlier than intended but since saturday I have fitness training I just let myself take 10 mins break for this session.
Today I went for my 7th fitness training. No sign of Mike so I went to do 5 mins cardio while walking towards the cardio machine I look at the entrance and saw Mike at resting area taking some drinks. Walao I don't want Mike to see me as I needed to do warmup before fitness training knowing how intensive it was. So I went ahead to do my cardio. As expected before 5 mins Mike found me ! Shikes ! I ensure I chose the spot block by the pilar don't understand how come he still sees me. So I just smile at him and he said 1 more min we start. So once I complete my 5 mins cardio there I hop down and walk with him to the training area.
I was first asked to do sit and stand 20 times as warm up. Hmm maybe because I had too many days break kinda felt tired today. Mike look at me I think he must be thinking this lady forgot liao is it. Then he constantly reminds me that my knee should not move. He helped to push my knee so that I only move my thighs when I sit. He asked me do another 10 times to make sure I can do it correctly. After that I was asked to do 30 steps up and down. Finally Mike told me to do the squad and up 15 times each. Then he went to take 2 5kg weight for me to carry while I do my sit and my step and squad. In total I did 3 rounds 30 times each. So in total 270 times. In between I had to do 5 mins cardio as well. Phew ! At the last round I could feel my knees were shaking but I told myself to persevere.
Mike could see that I could hardly stand still towards last round and when its the last squad he told me this is the last round so you can do it ! Then I just force myself through. I don't know how I can do it if I was doing this alone. Remember yesterday I just took 10 mins break as I felt tired. But today I was equally tired but yet with Mike there staring at me and held on to my shoulder when I want to fall doing my exercises, money worth spend. I believe if I want to save money and try to do this by myself not only I had to take at least twice the time, I might also quit after one month. Now, I look forward to my every fitness training even knowing how tough its going to be.
Finally 1 hour gone and Mike told me to go sign off for the day. He then tell me I shall see you next Sat. I look at Mike and said "Sat?" So weekdays no class? Then he told me I am at camp so I can only train you next Sat. In my heart I was relief at least I can now take a break next week. At the other hand I am also worried my stamina will go down if I just have one training next week. I told myself I must go on my own twice next week Tue and Fri. But my US boss coming for one week visit. Hopefully we do not need to go out for so many times dinner. Just once should be fine and I will try to eat less and choose Fish only.
Now I start to think only 7 lessons, I have 25 more to go. Tough days ahead...........
Been sick recently so have not been to church yet 2008. Meanwhile my North district pastor from Adam Rd has arranged for me to serve once a month at N3 10 am service. I have to start waking up early and be there by 9.30 am on 21st Jan. Its pretty excited for me after stop serving for about 7 months. What happen was when my church has a new premise at Paya Lebar I was arranged to serve at N1 5 pm Sat service. After serving for 4 months I realised I was not interested in taking care of small babies 1 to 6 months. Earlier when pastor told me about it I have informed him that I cannot take care of too young babies as I was not experienced. When I first have my nephews and nieces my mum always remind me to be extra careful with them and not to hurt them. I was not allowed to hold babies until they are strong enough to sit which likely 6 months or older.
Anyway I felt bored at Paya Lebar N1 as each week we have 2 N1 teachers and min 2 helpers. But we have just 2 to 3 babies. I just find I have no purpose at N1. I requested to transfer back to Adam Road. Thank God my pastor accepted and informed Pastor Wendy to take over. But last year I had bad year end as my aunt past away and we are having family issues I informed Pastor Wendy I can only start serving from October but it was too late so I was asked to wait for call from church worker Don. Anyway now finally 2008 it was confirmed that I will be serving as N3 helper once a month until I felt ready to be permanent N3 core teacher. The children that I teach are from age 2.5 to 4 and they are very active and cute. I just love them. Thinking about it makes me felt excited.
Talking about cough, I am like my mum my throat is sensitive to food like bak kwa, meat floss, overly sour stuff, spicy if I take too much I will have dry cough. When I ever get sore throat which followed by cough I will be coughing for at least one month to sometimes three months. Even I try take alot of vitamins, etc still not much help. Tried ask doctors but they always tell me I am too sensitive, I am just one of the people who has overly sensitive throat. Eat less fried food, etc. Try drink more warm water.
Yesterday I was coughing quite badly in my room after hard day at work, my landlord overheard thought maybe I suffering from pneumonia. He came into my room and ask me to take care. Suggest I apply vicks on my 2 feet and wear socks. Due to cold weather, my throat/lungs could be sensitive to fan or wind blowing. I have a very stuffy night. Finally I took my cough medicine and had a great sleep. But 5.30am I woke up and throw up alot of phlegm and felt a lot better.
Hopefully my cough will recover by tomorrow as I really hate to cough during office hours whereby my colleagues might be worried each time I cough.

I was going through news at xin.sg and was surprised by this news. China this year has its own Xing Guang Bang singing competition. A male blind contestant named Yang Guang won overall champion. He is 27 years old male from Ha Er Ping. Its interesting that outside Singapore there is another blind contestant winner. He was blind since 8 months old wrote own song for singing in the competition.
Unfortunately I was sick on under medication for 2 days. Today back to work but still unable to fully focus to do work. Felt tired but good to have some rest and start to exercise again tomorrow after 2 days rest. Else Mike will think I am finding excuse again. Last sunday we had this 6th training and Mike aware I was not in my tip top condition told me to do back, arms and abdomen exercise instead.
I had to use weight machine to train my arms and back muscles. Mike did not tell me but he started with 15kg (usual I train 5-10 kg only) 20 times then move on to 20 and 25kg last round. No wonder I felt so heavy. Only later I realised it was 25kg ! My God. Then I was told to do other training for my abdomen and back. There is one part where I had to move thigh high enough to kick my trainer's palm. Changing from left thigh to right thigh for about total 100 times. I can only say I was just so tired but I persevere on. I did all these exercises for 45 mins. After that I was told to have few minutes break before proceed to do push up.
This push up segment, I was to do push up for 10 secs, 20 secs then 30 secs. But upon my 3rd try Mike told me if I could hold on to 30 secs I can leave for the day but if not I will have to continue till I manage to hold on to 27 secs. I can only say that this exercise I sweat the most. The whole exercise mat is full of my sweat. Only upon my 3rd try I manage to hold on to 31 secs. Mike compliment me on doing well this day. But in my heart I was glad its over. I told Mike I almost cannot breathe. Partly because I have throat infection on Saturday and had not been in my best condition.
Tomorrow another training will start, hope that my body will be in good condition then!
Dear friends I started to think about signing up for fitness training classes after realised I get tired easilyand body ache for past couple months.
Today we have heard about MC King's past away which is said to be due to heart failure. Perhaps he has overworked due to recent acting projects he took part. If any of you out there feel that you get tired easily always out of breath, do start to exercise if you have not exercise for long time.
Take care of your health not for yourself also for your family esp your parents. I now put aside time everyweek about 10 hours to exercise. This is not because I want to look slim but mainly I am afraid I will have heart problems. Doctors ever told me people who are obese will get heart attack easily and not high blood pressure.
Last friday while I was searching for some news but saw the headlines about MC King instead. I ignored the news as I thought it was just a rumour or joke. But an hour later I saw more than one headline news on MC King, out of curiosity I checked the news and realised the famous comedian actor MC King passed away on Friday around 1 pm which was just about 4 hours ago. I am shocked. I really enjoyed listening to MC King hosting or acting as he is very funny actor.
Today I was sick while on my way to see the doctor I turn on radio 933 then followed by 100.3 and realised 100.3 are having morning program in remembrance of MC King. Not sure why but each time I listened to the DJ and artistes talking about MC King, my tears just flow felt touched by their stories of MC King the funny man they know. My heart felt for his widowed mother who loved him dearly. MC King though I do not know you and never met you in person before, but from the interviews of your dear friends and artistes who all loved you and missed you dearly I can tell that you are someone who is friendly, funny and loving.
Also turned on to 97.2 11 to 12 pm where they have an hour program in remembrance of MC King by DJ Yong Mei. Its really touching and nice to hear all the recaps given by Yung Mei over the programs she ever hosted with MC King. I seldom listen to radio during office hours, totally enjoy it.
Something I learnt about MC King which I do not know before is that he is BIG FAN of Jacky Cheung (same as me :) ) He has interviewed Jacky twice from what I heard on 97.2 today.

Mike told me the good news today that next week he be away about a week for National Service (Yay!) and I will only have 2 lessons with him.
Friends please take note of my schedule as days I have training I won't want to go out since its tiring for me:
Jan 9th (Wed) - 6 pm (1 hour training, 30 mins to change and bath) Jan 12th (Sat) - 2.30 pm (1 hour training, 30 mins to change and bath) I will have to go one time on my own for training which I have decided to be tomorrow Jan 7th around 6 pm.I might go another time on friday if I am free.
Following week should be back to normal, Monday, Thursday and Saturday for training but will post again when Mike reconfirm with me.
I was sick yesterday was so worried unable to attend Jacky Cheung concert and missing my fitness training. I got used to the training lessons that I kinda afraid to miss it. SMS my trainer Mike to prealert him that I had throat infection and Sunday might miss it. Wah he so 'gen cheong' called me immediately. Was at salon doing facial and unable to answer call. I realised its him sms sure ask me how I was and if I am able to attend sunday's training. While talking to him he said ok or not, can come? Then he asked me "Don't tell me you using this excuse to escape from training hor". Walao I am really unwell leh, anyway I told him after taking a few panadols and drink liang teh was feeling better so sunday should be fine to go ahead.
Back to Jacky's concert, to recap I was totally mesmerized by Jacky last year July when I attended with a friend. I bought cheapest ticket this time but was lucky I was able to get Row 28 (1st row of cheapest category) and Block B14 which is center and near to stage. With my binoculous I was able to see Jacky very clearly. I was just on time arriving at 8 pm but seems to be alot of people queueing when I was finally inside I bought souvenirs 2 Jacky Tee for $10 got one white and one black, want to give one tee to my nephew. Also bought the wind breaker for $40 originally $99. When I was finally at my seat I realised stadium was only 50% full. By 8.30pm concert finally started.
In between the concert I kept wanting to pee(maybe I drank too much due to the medicine I took) and I went to the toilet few rounds. Thank God that I went in middle of the singing (since I heard before last year so I am not that worried of missing alot of it). There is just slight change from last concert with more Cantonese songs this time. Same as last year 1st night concert Jacky sang 12 encore songs which lasted for an hour. The concert ended 11.35pm. Totally enjoyed it. Alot of the fans "Bu se de" but no choice already concert lasted 3 hours and Jacky is the BEST!
Continue from last posting on my fitness training:
My 4th lesson with trainer was on 31st Dec. I did cardio for 10 mins when Mike came to ask me to go over to start the lesson. This time I was all prepared for the tough lesson, to my horror he passed me a ball weight 3kg and tell me today this will be the ball you use for exercise. Did almost the similar routines with last lesson except with much heavier ball and had to run to and from in the room where daily they have yoga/pilate lessons. I felt much tired this day.
Mike told me that he has student that sweat on the floor totally wet. He asked me to be prepared (Gulp...!) Anyway I was glad towards the end I manage to get through this lesson and felt much more tired than the last. Not sure how many calories I burnt this time but alot more than the last one since I sweat so much and so tired.
My 5th lesson which happens to be on 3rd Jan. Mike called me around 3pm to request that I can help to be punctual at 6 pm which I told him I will try my best. I manage to leave office 5 mins earlier and then walk fairly quickly to the bus stop (seems the training sessions helped me to walk faster hoho). Then I realise bus arrived before I reach the bus stop just another 20 meters away I saw people going up I just ran. Wow, did not realise my last lesson helped me run so fast I manage to get my feet on the bus and so happppppy!
Finally I reach the fitness center but realised its only 5.35pm. I changed and then decide to do cardio but then someone called me! Oh, so familiar its Mike ! I turn and look did not realise he was running right behind me exercising. Well, I never recognised him when he change into his exercise outfit as he looked different when not wearing uniform. I felt pai seh as I took sometime to find him. He told me we shall start 6pm sharp (Ok lor)
Then I cycle for about 20 mins but I could not find him, I walk to the counter and wait and wait then I realised he went to have a puff and he has not yet changed. When he saw me he told me to wait awhile he get change into his uniform. Then we start our 5th lesson.
This time no balls but I will using my towel instead. I was asked to pull the towel between my hands and then try to squad. This time the squad is much more difficult as he asked me to squad but my knees not to move forward. I find my balancing on my left leg is weak in compared to my right leg. It took me sometime to get it working as taught. I had to do this 6 rounds and total of 120 squad and another 120 on the machine to train my legs.
After completing this was asked to do cardio this time to adjust speed to level 8 (previously on level 7). Then Mike told me a good news (to me lah) that he will be going for NS a week mid Jan. He told me to be 'kuai' to do exercise on my own (wow, in my heart I felt so happpppy. Finally I can have a little more relaxing exercise). Then after I finsh 10 mins on cardio I was asked to do stepper. I really hate this stepper machine coz it took all my strength and I only burn half the calories when I spend the same time on cardio. I was told not to step fully down but halfway before step using my other feet.
Upon 3 mins on stepper I realised my leg were so tired and aching. I had to drag myself to step further. Mike was there kept shouting "Pat, you can do it another 2 more mins......." I felt this is like my last days...........imagine I had to climb mountain to escape from something and here my legs were so heavy. Finally I saw a lady next to me she is so petite but muscular. She could do stepper with a blink. How can she move her legs so quick and step so hard when she is so small. I could hardly step don't even mention about step both feet so quickly. After watching her it motivate me to put my best effort and strength to complete this final exercise. When I saw the timer shows 5:00 which is 5 minutes, wow I am really so relieved. Then Mike congratulate me and told me that I did well. Yeah, my legs almost break because of this stepper. The weight machine that I tried earlier to train my legs made my legs ache after doing it 120 times.
Well, after taking bath I told myself to watch "I am Legend", I went for fish soup (as advised by Mike) then I went to cinema to catch this show before it ends. Next day I realised I catch a cold and now having slight flu and bad cough. So sad............. I hope to recover today as I am going for Jacky Cheung's concert at night, I better sleep more to rest.
Yesterday I open my email and saw this funny video sent to me by my friend. As I watch it I was laughing as it reminds me of my mum when I was small and my sisters when they have children. Seems all mums are the same. Since I have no children I can be exempted from being listed as mum for now and laugh about it. (hohoho !)
