HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 EVERYONE!!!

Hello friends

Wish everyone a Happy New Year, may the new year be blessed

with happiness and good health to all that I know.

Just countdown with a few friends at Bugis and back by 1 am by train. Seems alot of cabs queueing for passengers very different from previous years.

Even my fitness trainer also have countdown session with friends, he started my training early at around 7.10pm until 8.10pm. Today I had to carry 3kg ball and perform the squad followed by stand about 80 times. Previously the ball only weight around 0.5kg.

Seems the difficulties getting more and do wish me well in my fitness training hohoho!

I finally did it !
Well I have always wanted to signup for fitness center been thinking and choosing should I pick one in city, near to my office or near to my home? Should I go for CA Fitness at Bugis or Planet Fitness at Suntec or Planet Fitness where I stay? After more than 10 months I still cannot decide but finally I signup with "Fitness First" which is nearest to my home. Since I can claim from my company around half of the membership I should do so since right now I felt pretty unhealthy. My legs cramp easily and sometimes I get muscle pull when I wake up from sleep, bad body ache back, legs, shoulder basically all over etc etc for past 2 months.

Finally on Dec 22nd I signed up and on 23rd I met my trainer Mike. He is a nice guy with sense of humor and has goatie like WL (haha WL shaved his goatie when he left for Beijing). Then there is this machine where I was asked to stand on it and Mike just have to enter my height and my body fat % will be calculated in few minutes. (Sound like magic machine hoho). Finally Mike informed me the BIG and HORROR news that people my age will have body fat healthy % around 21 to 26. But mine was 46%, God I thought I only stop weighing myself for about 10 months, kept blaming myself for eating heavy lunch right before for this appointment but Mike was kind enough to tell me he has already buffer in % for that. (Wow so honest of him, why can't he make me happy by not saying that leh? Haiz............)

Anyway this is it, I know the time has come for me to burn my pocket and signup for one to one trainer. Thank God I can pay installment for this and did not feel that much pain in paying for this, for good health this money is worth paid. I want to get rid of my 4 months baby (which refers to my huge spare tyre) and my giant thighs which has almost doubled since 2004. I felt this has been the reason for my legs frequent cramps. Finally I asked Mike how is the package like and he said there are 2 package 10 sessions or 30 sessions he recommends that was promotion for me as I pay for 25 sessions and get 5 free. When I signup for the membership I have been given 2 free sessions with trainer and with that in total I had 32 sessions. Mike told me this would last me for max of 5 months which is good. Knowing myself I know I will stop going gym after 2 months so I must be discipline and force myself through.€

Wow finally I went to do 40 minutes of cardio, machines etc, tried around 4 different machines to start warmup myself. Mike said for 1st try start slow. So roughly I burnt around just 125 calories for my first workout. Then my next session on 25th Dec. Mike arranged for my sessions to be 3 times a week with him for first month and I had to go once more to train on my own or attend other classes like yoga etc. My 2nd training was much better I manage to do longer trainings and burnt around 200+ calories for 1 hour session. My body only felt pain after 1st session but from 2nd session onwards it seemed fine.

On my 3rd training I went on my own on 27th Dec to train 1 hour, I basically tried Cardio 30 mins, cycling 15 mins, and another 15 mins on 3 different weight lifting machines. This time I managed to burn around 250 calories. I am so happy that day. While I was trying cardio, Mike saw me and try to give me a scare by hitting my back and then hide himself. I was listening to my MP3 and was shocked how come my friend was here but realised its Mike. He said that he was glad to see me working hard (Phew! Glad I went else I will get one warning from Mike). Mike said he is LOOKING FORWARD to train me next session (Wow! Sounds tough man!)

Finally today my 4th training and also 3rd session by Mike. I went 30 mins earlier so I can get 20 mins to train on Cardio on my own to warmup my body. Mike came and look for me and asked me to go to do REAL trainings. Finally I realised those cardio, machines etc is nothing compared to the tough trainings he was going to give me. I was first asked to carry a ball with my arms stretch out and squad and up and squad 20 times followed by another up and down steps 20 times and in total I did 100 times squad and 100 times steps. I was damn hungry towards the last round but Mike said I can do it, so I have to do it. Finally its over and my sweat was dripping from head down to face and I kept wiping it and kept drinking water.

To my shock, I had another round of different routines, this time I had to squad and pretend to sit with holding the ball another 20 times and do it 5 times. Towards the end I felt so tired around my arms and then was asked to train my legs stamina. I was asked to sit on weight machine and use my legs to lift the weight. I did this for another 5 rounds of 10 times each. Towards the end I kept breathing hard and had to drink lots of water. I told Mike I believe tonight I will have great sleep as I am soooooooooooo tired ! Mike laughed and agreed with me totally. Sweet dreams, Pat ! HaHa! I only kept thinking of getting nice bath and relax myself but I have another appointment to go in Clementi. So quickly went to take bath and changed and then get my butt to the taxi stand to go Clementi as I 'bo lat' to take MRT then walk as I am soooooooo hungry and tired. On the way I pack sausage with prata from nice store at basement. The way prata was fried was without oil and its using much less oil to cook which suit my diet now.

Just a note now I don't go for late dinners, no dinner appointments unless its important meetings for next 5 months not at least until my workout see real results. Food wise I have to cut down desserts (sweets), rice/noodles, oily and fried food. I can still eat meat but must not be fried and moderately. Best to eat fish, seafood. I was able to refrain myself from eating meat recently. In fact after just 1 week I can feel results my tummy is tighter and reduced at least half an inch. I get less bloated stomach. Also I tried to eat grapefruit 2-3 times a week to help in digestion. Cut down breakfast, only taking oats and plain wheatmeal bread. Lunch no rice, light food like yong tau foo. Try to eat mee suah or bee hoon soup instead of any noodles or rice.

Mike suggested I eat 5 smaller meals a day rather than 3 full meals. By cutting down breakfast and lunch, I have managed to keep my appetite smaller. Dinner I will eat twice once around 4-5pm light one and another time at around 6-7pm or later if I have trainings. For the meals that I eat less when I felt hungry I will drink a cup of hot Milo and it works. Milo gives me energy for workouts plus its filling, I will eat less meat when I drink Milo. I also bought energy bar which comes with more energy than calories. In between the day when I felt hungry I will eat some. 1 bar I can eat for 4-5 times as snacks in between smaller meals.

I hope to keep track of this and see results after 1 month. I do not care how many kg I loose but most important is I would like to maintain my body fat at around 24-25% rather than 46% at end of 5 months from now which is May 08. I will update again soon after I train for my 8th time. Hopefully by then I can reduce at least 2-3% fats with strict diet and trainings 4 times a week. Wish me all the best ba.

Christmas and shopping spree 2007
I cannot believe it but I did spend more than $200 at AMK Hub Five elements buying a number of bracelet and necklace. Initially wanted to get a new white gold chain budget around $300 since mine broke last year. But this SK sales assistant told me they do not have the length I was looking for and no stock. They do not know when stock will come in (to my disbelief??). I can only say what a lousy sales assistant, did not even try to promote any other necklace for me (do I look like I do not have the money to buy?) Anyway I manage to find the chain I want just gold plated like above photo at just $18 after 5% discount. I was told I need to get 3 necklace to get the 5% discount so I bought 2 more necklace only to end up buy couple more as I can get VIP member plus other benefits. I bought 2 birthday gift in advance for my friends coming birthdays Jan~Feb.

A bit difficult to take photos so just have sneak preview, all the chains are unique, bought the last one as its heartshape. The first 2 I can wear to formal functions (well I have one coming March wedding). I was told not to sweat too much on the chain and not to wear them to take bath so I have to take real good care of them. This is one disadvantage of not purchasing real gold jewellery but the price is so so cheap and they look really nice. The necklace with pendant came in a set and costs about $25~$30 after discount.

The one in the black case is flowery bracelet love this alot. Imported from Paris and handmade most expensive item I paid for at this shop at about $40. The white gold plated is a real nice necklace with 2 faces. Difficult to take zoom photos so will just see a preview.

This is branded "Coach" bag from US. My colleague Susan help me to get it from Washington DC discounted price of about US$270+ which is in SGD around $390 which is much cheaper as in Singapore you have to pay above $600 for the same bag. This bag will replace my hunger for the Louis Vutton bag that I have been looking for in Taiwan, HK and Singapore LV shops but still out of stock after so many months. I will no longer wait for the LV bag which costs triple the price of this but a bit bigger in size. Bye to my LV dreambag ~~!!

Bought this handbag a week ago adidas and after discount cost me around $60/- Now in my closet waiting for my time to use it when its right

One tee for $9 good bargain comes in different colors. Loved the material. Keep it for New Year.

One tee for $10, bought 2, good for exercises as the material is very light and can absord sweat

I have more items but not able to take photos yet will add on soon !
Note: The shopping items were purchased between Nov~Dec period not purchase at the same time but I update together easier for me.

My new year resolution
I have been thinking of new year resolution but still have not conclude but following are some of what I need to set target for coming 2008:

(a) Active year - I want to be more active, must setup schedule for cleaning my room, iron clothings plus to do exercise regularly (maybe jog once a week) reduce 21% of my current fat level (Ha Ha)
(b) Healthy year - I want to eat healthy, less and 5 smaller meals a day
- Every morning I must take a big bottle of water, wholemeal bread for
breakfast and 1 calcium pill
- Eat each meal moderately, if hungry drink more water
- Eat more fruits and vegetable
(c) Holy year - I must set sometime for God, read bible, study bible and listen more christian songs

Hopefully these 3 items I set target for 2008 can be done

New mobile Sony Ericsson K530i
Closeup photo of my new mobile its greyish brown color

Phone with accessories

Recently I invested some of my CPF fund for investments through Prudential and got myself a pretty great phone. I went to collect it at AMK Hub with my letter but was told it was out of stock. I went again 2 days later and a glimpse of it enough to make me fall in love with my new phone. I did not expect to like this phone but it was slim and light and key pad much better than my 11 month old N73 which I seldom use due to numerous reasons. Well now I have 4 phones which include my office Black Berry Curve which I got it 2 months ago. I am going to give my mum my old Samsung which is about 2 years old. Will keep my N73 and this Sony ericsson baby with me.

Though this phone came free but I thought why not I get some accessories and decide to purchase the wireless bluetooth Headset HBH-DS970 which I can listen to songs and answer phone calls through this device rather than holding the phone. I looked at the demo video played in the shop it was pretty interesting to know that Sony Ericsson phones not only looked better than nokia but has a number of interesting accessories. Tested this wireless device and was pretty impressive got it for $98 which was the offer price and $58 for the memory card which is not the same mini SD I have for my other phones. I also joint the orange club as the membership not only comes with discount but for any repairs I will be given loan phone while waiting for my phone to be repaired and other benefits. In future if I get accesories or phones from this shop I can get further discounts and I got myself extra battery for discounted price.

So in total I spent around $200+ for accessories for my free phone, seems like I start to be obsessed with my new toy :P

(Ho Ho Ho, sorry hor gift taken no exchange ok?)

Those who are curious can watch the video that I uploaded *(took me very long time :P

Meeting Photos (2)

Since there are so many photos and so much to write, I have this Part 2 to continue but I will write just in summary.

Here we are arrive at Scotts Road right opposite Far East Plaza. We walk overhead bridge after stepping in Far East Plaza realised that Melody and friends not behind us only June, me there where are the rest? Realised they are busy taking photos and Fang/Wei were shopping inside Guardian with Melody taking photos of Singapore artiste's advert posters :P

I went to take photos too. My not so impressive digital camera took few shots of the hanging Christmas lightings which suppose to be bright and white but after I upload photos realised they look rather gloomy :P

After all the photos taking, we decided to split into 2 groups of 4 and 7. Seems the 7 of us (initial group) who are more click will go together while the other 4 went another way. Then after split we went look around at level 2 then go down to basement to look at clothings and finally Melody and Tung Tung got one piece of shirt each. Then we realised its already after 8.30pm and we suppose to meet the other 4 gals so we went back to level 2 and there we go back to the bus stop to wait for buses to Newton Circle.
Here we informed Taiwanese friends not to talk to those stalls as they like to fight to get business and kinda very pushy to ask customers to order at their stalls. But immediately after we got into the makan place we have no choice but to sit in front of stall 52~53 since there are no other better seats. Again we ordered sharing but split by 2 groups of 7 and 4 again.
There are so much food we order, Satay Chicken, BBQ Stingray, Fried Rice, BBQ Chicken Wings, Friend Hokkein noodle, White and black carrot cake, Singapore Rojak etc. Out of so many, Melody and Tung Tung chose BBQ Stingray and black carrot cake as their favourite. They find Satay chicken is kind of tasteless and not what they expected but we explained that this is likely because its not from malay stall and not the authentic satay so its not what they expected.
To be continued :P

Melody's Taiwanese friends

Me and Melody

Melody arrived Singapore through Singapore Airlines friday night and called me about 7.30pm after she checkin her hotel at YWCA and meet up with her Singapore friends June etc at Bugis. Well since she has her local friend with her I told her will meet her Saturday instead so we arranged and I asked Fang and Wei along since she has chat with them before. Its good to know more Singaporeans right? We made arrangements prior to the meetup.

Me, Melody and Tung Tung

Melody and her friend Tung Tung

Yesterday finally gave Melody call at 10 am and she told me to meet up around lunchtime as she is meeting another Singapore friend around 4pm. I went to Viviocity to meet up with Melody and 3 of her Taiwan friends. When I arrive at Viviocity gave her a call and she told me she is at this "XXXXX" Chan Ting, guess I am not used to makan place in chinese and location names in chinese so I cannot imagine exactly which makan place is this. Well, I am used to say Restaurant/Chan Guan. Somehow I am expecting its something like those HK Cha Chan Teng.

So I walk one big round then call her again to ask what are the shops near to the place she is having lunch. Finally I found it after get copy of the Viviocity Shops directory from Information counter and realised earlier I turn right instead of left. I should have done so. Melody had lunch at Nyonya restaurant. She introduced me to her friends, Tung Tung who share room with her and another couple (hoho we don't talk much yesterday so I forgot their names actually). Later Fang and Wei arrived and Melody and friends paid the bill as the restaurant waitress told us they suppose to close at 3pm and its already exceeded time for us to leave.

So we decided to go to TS video since Melody and friends wanted to buy local Singapore movie and vcds. Sounds familar like me when I was in HK and Taiwan last year looking for HK dramas, Koreans and etc. On the way I realised they went missing only to find out that they actually snapping photos of Fiona Xie at OSIM store. WOW! I cannot imagine, I never even bother to look at local artistes what about taking photos? Well I realise I will be the same when in Taiwan taking Taiwanese artistes photos. Then we pass by Jay Chou big poster asked them if they want to take that and Melody told me "Nah. I dislike him and don't support him........" haha now I know.

Finally we reach TS video but shop assistant told us they only have 3 sets of Singapore dramas videos. After looking around Melody bought a number of Singapore movies and found 1 set of drama placed together with other taiwanese videos with help of 2 real friendly Singaporeans Fang and Wei while I busy looking for Korean videos myself. Total Melody paid SGD104.50 for big bag of videos while her friends each has bought some copies as well. Then we left TS video and found one stall selling healthy drinks and bread. We stop by for drinks and I bought this Apple, Wheatgrass drink for SGD4 and the 4 buns for $5 sharing with Fang and Wei who later went to get Hot Dogs. After steaming the buns they taste real good. Regretted I forgot to get photos taken.

Initially there we are just 7 of us but later June and another friend arrived and now we have 9. Then June informed us that outside was very heavy down pour so we cannot go to City Hall - Merlion to take photos as planned. So we are to head back to Hotel to let Melody and friends rest and leave their shopping bags while waiting for rain to stop. We took MRT to Dhoby Ghaut then walk back to YWCA. First time going to this lodge cum hotel and realise it was not as bad as YMCA I stayed in HK last year. We stay on for like 1.5 hours talking and chatting all the way. Also exchanging contacts. Its interesting we get to know so many new friends both Taiwan and Singapore just after one meeting.

Later Melody get call from Pei Ling who was downstairs waiting for us to go out shopping at Far East Plaza and dinner at Newton after. Pei Ling brought another friend Yung Ling (hope I spell it correctly). Maybe Pei Ling and Yung Ling more shy other than said hi we did not chat. 11 of us went to take bus to Scotts Road for our shopping spree.

Meeting fan from Taiwan
Wow I am totally excited as I am meeting Melody and her friends today. She is in Singapore last night to attend Singapore Star Awards 2007 at Mediacorp. Well, this year WL is not one of the appearing artistes so I did not get any tickets so NO I will not be attending.

But I have here gifts for Melody and Ya Ting two of my super great friends and WL fans from Taipei. Thanks to WL else I won't get to know 2 special ladies. Last night had a chat with Ya Ting she told me that she was thinking if there is no Mediacorp she wont know Melody and then will not know me. Seems these two ladies been very active at Mediacorp forum (overseas fans) where they share local Singapore dramas and discussions.

That was why they get to know WL and Kelly Poon and then when WL release album in Taipei I got Melody's contact and this is how I started this Blog main purpose to promote WL to overseas fans but again since I update this blog with WL news so often I will also 'lumpang' to post something about me but that will be just probably 10-20% of the posting at this blog.

I have 2 other blogs but I no longer update them as its too tedious to update 3 blogs than just 1.

I do hope my friends out there understand now why you see more WL news than about me as I spend alot of my free time to promote his songs to overseas fans. :)

Maybe I should think of doing this as full-time but only when financial permits, I still need to eat and pay for my bills :P

Christmas coming !!
Well this year Christmas will be quite slow for me as lately been super busy. Besides rushing for projects during work before year end, during my non-working hours I have so many WLFC events to take care, weekly song votings, developing photos, moderating forums and then again to update my blog.

About myself, I just back from Malaysia trip to celebrate my dad's birthday and exchange christmas gift with my second brother Siek Chew. He got me bed sheet for my Singapore bed. Yeah !

Anyway I also just had company Christmas Party 2007 and I was RC for the first time this year. Glad its the last event I had to be involved next year I will pass on to my other IT colleagues whoever it may be. I was hoping to win one of the lucky draw prizes which top $500 shopping vouchers to min $50 shopping voucher. I was happy that finally I won this year. Last year my other colleague won instead. Now I have $50 shopping voucher where I can shop at any Centerpoint shopping malls.

Wow I also bought WL a christmas gift key chain from Malaysia hope he likes it :)

Coming 20th Dec we have this christmas party at a friend's condo. I have to start buying gifts, there will be gift exchange for this. As for church gift exchange, honestly I had been really busy and down with flu virus last month I have not been able to go sunday service regularly. But I do pray next year 2008 I can be regular again and can contribute my time to serve regularly.

This year The Lord put me to test as I was being placed at Nursery 1 with small babies which is not my preference as I am afraid of hurting them they so tiny and fragile. I requested to transfer back to my old church at Adam Road and waiting to be called to serve again next year.

Also I am already planning for next year CNY holidays. I bought myself bus ticket 2nd Feb to go back hometown. But yet to get myself return ticket which I plan to get my dad to help me purchase Train KTM from Rawang to Singapore.

In January I have 2 concerts at Singapore Indoor Stadium to go for:
5th Jan - Jacky Cheung, this is my 2nd time but I bought cheapest $90 and 1st row, really enjoyed last year's one totally mesmerized

19th Jan - Jay Chou World Tour 2008 - I managed to get this after queueing for 1.5 hours at Bishan J8 sistic since the whole system was unaccessible on the day open for bookings. Going with my friend Dawn from WLFC

Totally looking forward to Christmas and coming JAN 2008.

To my friends, hope you get some update from this post as I prefer to summarize for one week rather than post daily.

:)
